ARTIST STATEMENT

Set and Costume Designer

I approach my art like I do life with inquisitively and existential thinking using imagery and movement. I tend to be inspired by situations that I have experienced or witnessed in the past that I think are controversial and should be highlighted, not ignored. I approach these situations analytical with an open mind to grasp all the different elements within the situation to crate a narrative. I then come up with narrative in a figmental, light hearted and bold way, even when the narrative can get quite dark and serious. I use art because it is more powerful than words since it is the only language that is international.
